How To Make Your Water More Exciting

One of the most essential items to have at any party or gathering is… water! Especially with the heat of summer, it is particularly important to stay hydrated. Juices and soda are nice beverages to have on hand, but with no calories or sugar water is much healthier – not to mention cheaper! However, let’s be honest, water isn’t the most exciting drink for your taste buds. So why not spice it up? There are plenty of ways to add a little zest to your water that will keep your guests delightfully hydrated and delectably satisfied. Here are a few ways you can make water more exciting!

Fruit

Adding fruit to your water is a great way to add flavor. Get inspired by sangria; cut up your favorite fruits such as apples, pears, oranges, citrus, strawberries, or watermelon and add it to a pitcher of water. You may want to invest in a glass dispenser, as it not only holds large quantities of water but when you add the vibrant colored fruits it looks much more appealing. You can offer a variety of flavors and let your guests try them all and decide which they prefer best! Try some of these combinations:

  • Strawberry and kiwi
  • Lemon and lime
  • Melon and mint
  • Blueberries, raspberries and blackberries
  • Apples and pears
  • Peaches and blackberries

If you are on a time crunch and don’t have time to cut up a bunch of fruit, frozen fruit works just as well and it will keep the water nice and cold. Just plop some frozen berries into a pitcher of water and you have a delicious beverage ready in seconds!

Herbs & Vegetables

You don’t have to stop at fruit! Herbs, spices, and vegetables also add great taste and give water a little zest. Mint is a perfect example of an herb that will add a light, delectable tone to each thirst-quenching sip. Lemon thyme, basil and lavender are more herbs that create a refreshing taste and a wonderful aroma and spices, like anise, will add the perfect hint of flavor. Cucumbers and celery are veggies that will bring fresh taste or try a mint and cucumber combination for a cool, crisp refreshment.

Ice Cubes

Ice cubes are a fun way to decorate a glass of water while packing in the flavor. For those with a sweet tooth, this is a perfect way to sneak the sweetness you crave! Fill up ice cube trays with water and sprinkle a little powdered drink mix, like Crystal Light, to each cube. How much mix you add depends on how sweet you want your drink; keep in mind the ice will dilute once you put it in a glass of water! Get a couple different flavors so your guests can pick their favorite or mix them to make their own drink concoction. If you are steering clear of sweetness, you can put some cut up fruit in your ice cube trays to add flavor and a fun look! Get creative: buy some cheap trays that are funky shapes for a little extra pizzazz. Don’t forget – the ice will melt! So keep those cubes cold in chilled ice buckets (it’s also a great way to show them off)!

It’s easy and cheap to make your water more exciting and it looks as good as it tastes; the vibrant colors of the water additions will enhance the decorations of your party and impress your guests.  Keep everyone happy and hydrated with good looking, flavorsome water!

Welcome to the water filter lady’s blog! Meet Laura…

I have been in the water filter business since 2006. My goal is to help educate you. Deciding to drink filtered tap water instead of bottled water can have huge benefits for the earth. We can eliminate unnecessary waste going into our landfills and oceans, cut back on the energy it takes to produce and transport the bottles, reduce our exposure to harmful chemicals like BPA, and stop supporting an industry moving to turn water from a common resource into an expensive commodity.
