Fluoride, found in our toothpaste and tap water could be responsible for certain mental disorders.
ADHD, ADD and other mental disorders have been on the rise for the past 50 years or so, and no-one really seems to know why.
One theory is that the high concentration of fluoride found in our tap water could be causing this epidemic.
The Harvard School of Public Health published research with claims that the fluoride in our tap water is damaging our health. They found that some chemicals that children are exposed to increase the prevalence of behavior disorders, fluoride was one of them.
The government has been allowing the inclusion of fluoride in our tap water for years due the effect it has on reducing tooth decay, but the long term effects of exposure to this much fluoride has not been tested.
Julia Medew writing for The Sydney Morning Herald said:
“Since 2006, the number of chemicals known to damage the human brain more generally, but that are not regulated to protect children’s health, had increased from 202 to 214,” …and…
“The pair said this could be the tip of the iceberg because the vast majority of the more than 80,000 industrial chemicals widely used in the United States have never been tested for their toxic effects on the developing fetus or child.”
The dangers of fluoride are not well known in the general demographic, but the dangers of fluoride exposure should not be ignored.
If you are worried about fluoride expose to you or your children, use bottled water for brushing your teeth.
Alternatively you could invest in a water filter so you can have an unlimited supply of clean, filtered water.
