There are many ways to live Green these days. Green living is in. Everywhere you look there are Green products. There are, Green furniture, Green electronics, appliances, food packaging, even Green cars. There are many ways to live a Greener life. Think about what you use in your daily life. What types of food do you eat? What type of car do you drive? Is your home Green? What can you do in your daily activities to be more Green?

Simply changing some simple daily habits can help make the world you live in a Greener place. An example of one simple life change would be to start filtering your own tap water. Simply stop purchasing bottled water and drink filtered tap water. Filtered tap water is a much greener choice over bottled water. It takes 3 times as much water to produce the bottle as it does to fill it.

Fossil fuels and the related emissions from transporting and producing plastic containers America make it even worse. Not to mention that plastic takes 300 years to break down and degrade naturally. Drinking filtered tap water saves the environment in many ways. Bottled water causes over 60,000,000 plastic bottles to be produced, filled, transported and disposed of almost every day in America. It is an environmental nightmare. There is no guarantee that bottled water is healthier than tap water. The only way to insure that you are drinking clean, safe, Green water, is to filter your own tap water and stop drinking bottled water.  Drinking filtered tap water can prevent up to12, 000 plastic bottles from ending up in landfills.  At an average cost of 8-15 cents per gallon, home filtered water is also more economical than bottled water, which costs an average of $1.00 per single serve bottle.
To put this more in perspective, drinking home filtered tap water will save not only the environment, but it will also save money.  The more people that stop drinking bottled water, the better it will be for the environment.  Less bottles will be produced, less bottlestransported and less water wasted.
There are any number of ways to be Green these days. Filtering your home tap water and eliminating bottled water from your budget is a great way to be Green! Even the US government could eliminate their purchase of bottled water and save over 200,000 dollars!

Just what would you do with a potential annual savings of 1,500 dollars? What other ways are there to live Green and save money?
