Stop The Monsanto Protection Act – Petition

July 15, 2012 by Laura

Last week the Senate passed its version of the Farm Bill by a vote of 64 to 35. Despite the hard won battles by Food Democracy Now! and our allies, the bill’s passage is another sad reminder that our elected officials in Washington, DC are continuing to place the interests of corporate lobbyists over the wellbeing of the American people. Nowhere was that more evident than the vote against the Sanders’ “Consumers Right to Know About Genetically Engineered Food Act” (amendment S. 2310) that would ...[READ MORE]

Gerber "Nursery Water" is Poisoned with Fluoride – Sign This Petition

June 16, 2012 by Laura

Gerber "Nursery Water" is Poisoned with Fluoride - Sign This Petition Today, I am writing another blog post as follow up on my latest post New Hampshire Governor Signs Infant Warning Bill Into Law. I have been an avid opposer of fluoride in drinking water for many years, and I am convinced as many others are that fluoride is toxic waste poison! However, it amazes me that people are still unaware or still brainwashed into believing that fluoride is "good" for them. Recently I was in a group page ...[READ MORE]

Keep Coca-Cola's Plastic OUT Of the Grand Canyon

December 15, 2011 by Laura

There were meaningful plans brewing for America’s most iconic national park before Coca-Cola stepped in to protect its own interests. The National Parks Service was weeks away from finalizing plans that would have eliminated the sale of plastic water bottles in the Grand Canyon when Coca-Cola, who sells water under the Dasani name, stepped in and squelched the plans. Join us in telling the National Park Service that we won’t stand for big corporations calling the shots in our nation’s parks, ...[READ MORE]

EWG Urges Supporters – Tell Your Senators You Want Safe Drinking Water

February 8, 2011 by Laura

In December, EWG published the first national investigation of the suspected carcinogen chromium-6 -- also known as hexavalent chromium -- in drinking water in 35 cities around the country. Recently, Senators Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., and Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., introduced Senate Bill 79, the Protecting Pregnant Women and Children From Hexavalent Chromium Act of 2011. The Boxer/Feinstein bill would require the Environmental Protection Agency to act within a year to set a safe limit for ...[READ MORE]

Welcome to the water filter lady’s blog! Meet Laura…

I have been in the water filter business since 2006. My goal is to help educate you. Deciding to drink filtered tap water instead of bottled water can have huge benefits for the earth. We can eliminate unnecessary waste going into our landfills and oceans, cut back on the energy it takes to produce and transport the bottles, reduce our exposure to harmful chemicals like BPA, and stop supporting an industry moving to turn water from a common resource into an expensive commodity.
